COMMUNICATING EXAMINATION FINDINGS TO INSURANCE CARRIERS
MITTEILUNG VON UNTERSUCHUNGSBEFUNDEN AN VERSICHERUNGSTRAGER
The communication of postmortem examination diagnoses to social insurance carriers without the expressed consent of the authorized claimant is not allowed by current West German laws, especially data protection laws, and could lead to claim in tort. Communication by order of the public prosecutor's office seems to be illegal as well.
