BASIC CHARACTERISTICS OF UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION PLANNING AND ITS USE

The article surveys the underground railway operational parameters compared to other public transport modes. It defines the field of its use and presents the underground construction development around the world and the basic characteristics of the five largest and smallest underground systems in the world. The need for the underground construction in Belgrade is discussed. (TRRL)
