CONCEPTION AND REALIZATION OF THE STEERING SYSTEM ON A NEW LIGHT FIELD VEHICLE WITH INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION
KONCEPCIJA I REALIZACIJA SISTEMA ZA UPRAVLJANJE NA NOVOM LAKOM TERENSKOM VOZILU SA NEZAVISNIM OSLANJANJEM
One of the typical problems encountered in off-road vehicles with independent suspension and long wheel travel is a kinematic match of the suspension and steering system. When designing this new off-road vehicle, a number of steering systems have been considered. After an extensive analysis a solution has been adopted, which considerably differs in its performance, simplicity and functionality from the conventional solutions used in vehicles with similar suspension systems. Test results on the prototype handling fully confirm the choice made in the design stage, emphasizing high quality and a good conformity of the steering system with all other systems in this new off-road vehicle.
