CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM COMPONENTS AS A PARAMETER FOR THE SELECTION OF THE "BEST" DISTRIBUTION OF BRAKING FORCE

KARAKTERISTIKE ELEMENATA KOCNOG SISTEMA KAO PARAMETAR ZA IZBOR "NAJBOLJE" RASPODJELE SILA KOCENJA

The article considers the real effects of assumptions and simplifications usually adopted in the calculation of the braking force distribution. Special attention is drawn to the factors influencing vehicle stability during braking. It also analyzes internal resisting forces in a drum brake. The experimental analysis proved that neglecting or inadequate treatment of such forces may lead to serious errors and wrong assessment of the braking system. (TRRL)
