FRACTURE PROPERTIES OF FRC IN TENSION

A compact tensile test specimen geometry has been developed to evaluate the tensile characteristics of grc materials. First-crack tensile strength, ultimate tensile strength and toughness index results are presented for GRC specimens with glass fibre content ranging from 2% to 8% by weight. One of the main conclusions of the study is the importance of determining both the tensile strength results and the toughness results to fully describe the enhanced tensile performance of GRC materials.
