POLICY STATEMENT ON ENTREPRENEURIAL TRANSIT SERVICES
In light of the changing trends in mass transportation, the need for entrepreneurial transit services are being espoused. Benefits of entrepreneurial services include: customer-driven services, more flexibility in being able to change as the market for transit services changes, more meaningful alternative to the automobile, higher standards of service, innovative and creative with regard to service, require little if any government subsidies, open up opportunities for small and minority businesses, and they supplement as opposed to replacing existing public transit services. Recommendations with regards to entrepreneurial transit services are also given.
