FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION'S RURAL TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Thousands of rural communties depend heavily on rural roads and bridges, and their improvement is of utmost national concern. To answer this growing concern, the Rural Technical Assistance Program was established by the Federal Highway Administration. The Technology Transfer Program (T2) for Local Transportation Agencies is the largest of the projects in this Assistance Program. T2 center operations and funding are briefly described in this article. Illustrations of cost saving projects implemented under RTAP are also described. aas its funding
