INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE 101ST CONGRESS
This article briefly reviews activity in the 101st Congress related to infrastructure. Such activity includes the appointment of a House Democratic Task Force on Infrastructure, a Senate Republican Task Force on Transportation Infrastructure, initiatives within the House Public Works and Transportation Committee dealing with the nation's infrastructure, creation of the Anthony Commission on Public Finance by Representative Beryl Anthony to make recommendations about the effects of federal tax law on state and local governments' ability to finance infrastructure activities, and Senate and House bills concerned with the national infrastructure.
