INVERTER CONTROLLED EMUS SWEEP THE BOARD
Japan's major commuter railways will soon have 1,000 cars equipped with VVVF inverters in service. All are for DC systems at present, but the Series 300 shinkansen trains due into service in 1992 will use PWM converters to process AC power from the overhead line.
