AGC MARKET FORECAST 1990

The U.S. economic expansion that began in November 1982 continues to pull the economy along, although at a lesser pace. The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) is optimistic about the continued strength of the construction industry. This article presents AGC's 1990 Market Survey. AGC's Highway Division respondents are projecting a 6.1% increase in volume for 1990. Having seen some of the strong public interest in infrastructure investment manifest itself in increased funding levels and new revenue sources in 17 states, highway contractors are looking for a better year in 1990. The Rocky Mountain region is forecasting the most rapid growth with an increase of 13.6%.
