COSTS TO SMALL AGENCIES OF USING MICROS TO MANAGE TRAFFIC RECORDS
The costs and benefits are examined of computerized traffic record systems and the actions required to implement them. It emphasizes the particular problems and opportunities faced by small transportation and public works agencies, who may choose to work on microcomputers. The conclusions, however, are also applicable to large organizations and to other fields of civil engineering. The observations presented here are based on the implementation of a comprehensive traffic reford keeping and maintenance management package called the Berkeley Traffic System (BTS).
