RESEARCH APPLICATION MAJOR LARSON STRATEGY
This is a report of an interview with the new Federal Highway Adiminstrator, T. Larson. The Administrator answers questions regarding the Strategic Highway Research Program, maintenance of the existing transportation plant, the building of new highways, financing of highway construction, Transportation 2020, and the Federal Highway Administration's mission. Barriers to research information dissemination and technology transfer are noted. It is noted, also, that local agencies should be more responsible for financing major highway construction in their areas.
