Maintenance of our roads is a good and valuable occupation, but it is also both an expensive and difficult occupation. Vejops is a system which makes it possible to establish how to undertake maintenance at the right time and in the right place or, to put the matter differently, how to obtain the maximum effect from the investment. The system has been designed for minor road administrations. The system can be run on IBM compatible personal computers which are operated at each local authority. There is a dialogue between the user and his personal computer, where he is guided by questions and screen images. To a large extent local conditions can be encompassed into the system which are used as a basis for the evaluations made by the program. This note describes all the different parts of the system and provides instruction into how to operate the system. It constitutes the 1St edition of the Vejops user guide. (Author/TRRL)
