STUDY OF SINGLE VEHICLE RURAL ACCIDENTS: A DESCRIPTION OF THE DATABASES CONSTRUCTED FOR THE STUDY
The victorian rural accident study was a joint initiative of the road traffic and road construction authorities. The aim of the study was to gain an understanding of single vehicle accidents on rural roads. This paper gives a brief description of the study and a detailed account of the data collected for each accident and the databases, constructed using dbase III, used for the study. The study coding manual is given in appendix e. The study was sponsored by the road construction authority and transport accident commission and is an updated version of report rn/88/2. (Author/TRRL)
