This is the 14th of a series of occasional brief reports on highway fatality trends, the data for which are extracted from the Fatal Accident Reporting System (FARS). It provides an indication of effects that are relatively stable, those that are seasonal, and those that vary over the years. Traffic accidents have killed between 4 and 5 thousand motorcycle drivers everyear after 1976. Graphs are used to illustrate the trends in these fatalities. Figures show the differences in amplitude and shape between motorcyle fatality seasonality and the seasonality of all other traffic fatalities. Long term trends are noted.
