AN IMPACT EVALUATION OF THE NEW YORK STATE STOP-DWI PROGRAM
This report describes the research design of the impact evaluation of the STOP-DWI program, and summarizes the projected statewide STOP-DWI expenditures. The establishment of the STOP-DWI intervention, and its immediate and intermediate effects are described. Statewide accident experience is analyzed, and the alternative explanations are discussed. Time series anslyses are described. Drinking and driving laws for selected states and the nation are reviewed and the conclusions drawn are presented.
