GEOTEXTILES HANDBOOK

This textbook provides information about geotextiles and covers the different materials available and how they are made. A section is also provided on the properties of geotextiles and their measurement. Such properties include: mass per unit area; pore size; surface friction; load deformation characteristics; water permeability; and durability. Sections are also provided on general construction techniques and specific applications such as the construction or repair of roads, railways, embankments, walls and steep sided embankments, drainage and revetments. A compendium of products is also included, which presents manufacturers' data for commonly available geotextiles using a standard format for comparisons.
