TRAFFIC SAFETY IN RURAL AND URBAN AREAS. KNOWLEDGE AND APPLICATION

VERKEERSVEILIGHEID IN REGIO EN GEMEENTE. KENNIS EN TOEPASSING

On November 5, 1987 a one day conference was held on traffic safety in urban and rural areas; knowledge and application on the occasion of 25 years of the existence of the Dutch institute for road safety research SWOV. Lectures were given in three blocks (1) speed and speed influencing (2) stimulation plan for local authorities: action minus 25% and (3) alcohol and breath analyses. The following papers were presented: snelheidsvorming en snelheidsbeinvloeding (forming speed and influencing speed) (mulder,jag); snelheid remmen, altijd en overal? (decreasing speed, always and everywhere?)
