EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES AND EVALUATION METHODS OF PEDESTRIAN SAFETY EDUCATION FOR YOUNG CHILDREN

Research literature is reviewed to identify the educational objectives of pedestrian safety education programmes for young children, and methods of evaluating the outcomes of such programmes. The objectives of a number of overseas education programmes are compared with those of the Victorian primary school unit, "Roadswork". Conclusions are made regarding appropriate objectives and evaluation methods.
