A COMPUTER SIMULATION FOR LONGITUDINAL VENTILATION OF A ROAD TUNNEL WITH INCOMING AND OUTGOING SLIP ROADS ---PAPERS PRESENTED AT THE 6TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON THE AERODYNAMICS AND VENTILATION OF VEHICLE TUNNELS, DURHAM, 27-29 SEPT 1988

In a road tunnel with incoming and outgoing slip roads the airflow over the whole main tunnel tube is not constant because of the necessary air balance in each junction. With the help of the described computer simulation the air velocities can be calculated for a given configuration of the running booster fans in a case of normal or installed traffic as well as in a case with a fire in one of the tunnel sections.(a)
