LONG COMBINATION VEHICLES IN QUEBEC AND ONTARIO ---PROCEEDINGS OF THE 23RD ANNUAL MEETING OF THE CANADIAN TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH FORUM, MINAKI LODGE, ONTARIO, CANADA, 24-27 MAY 1988
This paper investigates the feasibility of allowing long combination vehicles (lcv's) to operate in Quebec and Ontario. These truck configurations include rocky mountain doubles, turnpike doubles and triple trailer combinations. These vehicles are not presently allowed in Ontario, but may operate in Quebec under special permit. Recent evidence suggests that allowing lcv's to operate in the ontario/quebec corridor would have a minimal impact on pavement costs while resulting in increased productivity for the trucking industry. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 807127.
