GEOSYNTHETICS RESEARCH AT CU-DENVER. GEOSYNTHETICS FORUM, DENVER, COLORADO, APRIL 13-14, 1989

This paper presents an overview of the past and current research activities at CU-Denver in the area of geosynthetics. All of the 17 research projects described herein are related to the use of geosynthetics in earth reinforcement applications. These projects are divided into the following four categories: (I) Stress-Strain and Frictional Behavior of Geosynthetics; (II) Controlled Tests and Analyses of Geosynthetics-Reinforced Earth Structures; (III) Analysis of Field Performance of Geosynthetics-Reinforced Earth Structures; and (IV) Design of Geosynthetics-Reinforced Earth Structures. Appendix 1 contains this paper: Long-Term Creep Characteristics of Geotextile in the Confinement of Soil, J.T.H. Wu and O. Takriti; Appendix 2 contains this paper: The Effectiveness of Tensile Reinforcement in Strengthening an Embankment over a Soft Foundation, N.N.S. Chou, J.T.H. Wu, and B.D. Siel.
