FROM STRATEGIC PLANNING TO TRANSPORTATION DECISIONS : STRATEGIC DECISION MAKING
This paper reviews the success of the Alberta Department of Transportation and utilities at using strategic planning in making transportation planning decisions. The objectives of the paper are to: 1) review the strategic planning model as a tool for decision making, 2) review briefly the department's strategic planning process, 3) discuss the success of the department in utilizing strategic planning for transportation decision making, and 4) examine potential changes that could be implemented in the process.
