STATE OF THE INDUSTRY: UNDER PRESSURE, MOW GETS NEW LOOK

As we move into the 1990s, the railroad industry is trying some new methods as well as reviving some old ones in order to keep tracks in tip top condition while providing on time service to customers. Discussed are maintenance equipment, better utilization of manpower, and programs for railroad maintenance which will decrease the amount of time needed to handle track maintenance so that trains can keep to their assigned schedules.
