INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS ASSESSMENT MODEL: DEVELOPMENT AND USE AT THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
A computer model is being developed at the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) to analyze the present condition of the state's highways and bridges and estimate the future impact of restoration programs and strategies. The present model was developed based on several earlier models, primarily the Highway Condition Projection Model and the New York State Bridge Model. An example of a full set of summary output tables is provided. The model's use in 1986 to evaluate NYSDOT's regional 5-year highway and bridge programs is discussed. Plans for the future direction and expansion of the model are also discussed.
