DRUNK-DRIVING INTERVENTION IN AN URBAN COMMUNITY. AN EXPLORATORY ANALYSIS
This study investigated whether age, sex, and marital status differnces exist in preventing the occurrence of impaired driving among urban residents. Among other findings, the overwhelming proportion of the repsondents were willing to intervene and prevent the occurrence of impaired driving. The research offers evidence that to drive the intoxicated person home or calling a taxi were the most frequently employed intervention techniques by the respondents. More females than males took keys away to prevent the occurrence of drunk-driving. Suggestions for research are included.
