FORMULA FOR THE SHEAR STRENGTH OF DEEP BEAMS
Using the 3 equilibrium equations from the truss model theory, an explicit formula is derived for the shear strength of deep beams. The constants in the formula are calibrated utilizing test data available in the literature. The formula is dimensionless and contains 4 variables that express the horizontal and vertical reinforcement ratios, the concrete strength, and the shear span ratio.
