COMPLEX ENVELOPE OF SURFACE GRAVITY WAVES
An attempt is made to establish an algorithm for the extraction of the complete complex envelope function from a wave record, and to evaluate its potential in the identification and quantification of wave groups. It is noted that the complex envelope function is a very useful analysis technique for wave records where the identification of wave grouping is a relevant interest.
