RANDOM WAVE RUNUP HEIGHT ON GENTLE SLOPE
A study is reported which attempted to establish an experimental formula for representative runup heights of random waves on gentle, smooth and impermeable uniform slopes ranging from 1/30 to 1/5 under various wave conditions. An empirical formula also is proposed for the ratio of the number of runup crests to the number of incident waves. This formula can be used to estimate the mean repetition period of runup crests.
