VALIDITY OF SMITH MODEL IN PILE DRIVING ANALYSIS
The results are presented of an analytical study for determining the shaft damping parameter as a function of soil properties. A dynamic finite element computer program is developed to analyze the pile shaft resistance by using an elasto-plastic approach. The results of the analyses are presented and conclusions drawn from them are presented.
