HEAD LOSS IN MANIFOLDS OR TRICKLE LATERAL: SIMPLIFIED APPROACH
In a previous work (Warrick and Yitayew, 1987, 1988), analytical solutions to the nonlinear differential equation describing typical manifold problems were presented. The solution yields a relationship between relative discharge and length which can be used to get the total head distribution along the manifold. Applications to trickle irrigation design were also presented (Yitayew and Warrick 1988). This note presents an extension to the analytical solutions, but with a more simplified approach for calculating total head loss in manifolds.
