BEAM-COLUMN ELEMENT ON WEAK WINKLER FOUNDATION
In this study an efficient beam-column on elastic foundation was derived using the exact displacement function obtained from the solution of the governing differential equation. The stiffness matrix and nodal load vector of the element are derived explicitly, and the detailed equations for the determination of the deflected shape, shearing force, and bending moment are developed. Two numerical examples are used to verify the accuracy and efficiency of the formulation. Conclusions drawn from the study are presented.
