This standard describes the reference method for the determination of the fineness index of portland cement by the air permeability method, expressed in terms of surface area in square metres per kilogram of cement determined at 23 plus or minus 2 degrees celsius. Information is provided to enable routine determination of the fineness index to be made at other temperatures.
