TRANSPORT STATISTICS FOR LONDON

This bulletin is the first of an annual series. It brings together a range of information about transport in London. Each section of the bulletin highlights a number of key points and includes a table of historic data together with charts. A contact point for further information is also provided. In addition a number of key transport facts are listed at the beginning of the booklet. Sections are provided on: a) population and employment; b) commuting in central London; c) statistics on road transport and infrastructure (radial traffic movements, average traffic speeds, road casualties, road vehicles, car ownership and taxis); d) London regional transport. This includes statistics of bus traffic, underground and light rail traffic, bus and underground fares, revenue, costs, performance indicators and quality; and e) British rail (network southeast). This contains details of traffic, receipt and fares, supply and demand, central London arrivals and service quality.
