SPATIAL DESIGN OF BITUMINOUS MIXTURES USING THE PRAM PROGRAM
PROSTORNO PROJEKTIRANJE ASFALTNIH MJESAVINA PROGRAMOM PRAM
The article presents a spatial design of bituminous mixtures using the pram program and spectrum 48k mini computer. It points to the experience gained by using the program during 1985 at the road construction laboratory of the civil engineering institute in Zagreb. The bituminous mixtures designed satisfied the recommended criteria concerning the quality of aggregate particle size distribution. A sufficient decrease in the quantity of bituminous mortar used has been achieved, so that, with allowed errors, the production of bituminous mixtures without an excess of bituminous mortar, i.e. With increased resistance to permanent deformations can be expected. The calculated thickness of 200/10 micro m of a bituminous film is an essential prerequisite for obtaining the increased resistance to cracking of wearing courses constructed with volcanic stone aggregate.
