THE NEW TS2 STANDARD: AN UPDATE

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standard, TS2, consisting of a controller unit, malfunction management unit, terminals and facilities, detectors, load switches, flashers, and cabinets, is described. This paper presesnts the substance of an open forum held to update the transportation community on the progress of the new TS2 standard. NEMA's most current efforts are also noted. The details are given of the controller unit and the malfunction unit. The TS2 functional requirements are tabulated.
