MICROCOMPUTER METHODS FOR SITE IMPACT TRAFFIC EVALUATION
SITE (Site Impact Traffic Evaluation) methodology and microcomputer spreadsheets are described which separately estimate background, site, and combined traffic to facilitate negotiations on sharing impact costs. SITE spreadsheets calculate traffic impacts from one or more proposed sites. Given the SITE estimates of the total peak hour traffic to and from the site(s) and forecasts of nonsite background traffic, recommendations can be made for future improvements to driveways, streets, intersections, and signals. The spreadsheets allow rapid sensitivity analysis of alternate assumptions and study variables. SITE methodology utilizes a family of lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheets, of which Sitetrip is the heart of methodology. The spreadsheets are described and an example is prsented to illustrate their application.
