CYCLIC TESTS OF FULL-SCALE COMPOSITE JOINT SUBASSEMBLAGES
In this investigation, tests were performed to develop information that could be used in the study of lateral drift characteristics of multistory steel structures. The details are described of the test procedure and the results. The behavior of composite beams are discussed. It was found that under positive bending, the composite action of the floor slab may increase substantially the stiffness and strength of steel beams in a joint subassemblage. The increase in stiffness may diminish somewhat under repeated load reversals. These and other findings are discussed.
