1-D STRAIN IN NORMALLY CONSOLIDATED COHESIONLESS SOILS. DISCUSSION
This is a discussion of a paper of the above title by B.O. Hardin published in Volume 113, No. 12 (December 1987) of this journal. The discusser comments on the model proposed by the author to characterize the compressiblity behavior of cohesionless soils. Disagreement is expressed with the author's validity limit for the model. The discussion is followed by a closure by the author in which he discusses the phases of the 1-D-strain behavior in particulate materials and the computed void ratio.
