COST/BENEFITS OF MODERN ROAD ADMINISTRATION
Among the topics addressed at this technical session held at the 11th IRF World Meeting were: highway user cost savings from Japan's 4300 kilometer expressway network; training of maintenance engineers in Norway; forecasts of the increase in vehicle operating costs in the US by the year 2000 if improvements to maintain highways are not made; training of highway personnel in developing countries; the impacts of large trucks on highway transportation systems; and community involvement in road management.
