INTERCITY AUTO TRIP ESTIMATION FOR SRI LANKA USING ENTROPY MAXIMIZATION
Recently techniques such as calibration of demand models and entropy maximization have been used to estimate origin-destination (O-D) matrices. To the author's knowledge, there has been no reported work on an O-D estimation for a nationwide network. This paper describes a methodology to estimate intercity auto traffic for Sri Lanka using entropy maximization. Some of these results are then compared with the values obtained from a known demand model and the actual data.
