RIPRAP DESIGN
A study is reported that is applicable to the design of riprap in channels, natural or man-made, that are not adjacent to structures that induce high turbulence levels. The procedure is applicable to a wide range of gradations for riprap blanket thickness equal to the maximum stone sizes. Stability coefficients for other blanket thicknesses are presented for a limited range of gradations. Two example problems are used ot demonstrate the ease in using the proposed design procedure.
