SIMULATION OF NONSTEADY CONSTRUCTION PROCESSES
This is a discussion of the origins of transient producing factors in construction operations. It is followed by a description of how these factors are handled by an enhanced CYCLONE simulation program. The results are given of a sensitivity analysis for a concrete-placing operation to illustrate the outcome of nonsteady process simulations. The new capabilities of CYCLONE-based simulation, which mirror the importance of nonsteady-state processes in construction, allow for the analysis of models incorporating the randomness of construction on an even higher level.
