SOIL CEMENT BASE SLASHES COST OF FLORIDA ROADS
The roads and parking lots for Disney World's new Caribbean Bay resort, opening in late 1989, will have an 8-in. soil cement base, with a 1-in. asphalt overlay. By using this type of road base, the problems and expense of importing limestone, a scarce commodity in Florida, was avoided. This article describes the preparation and placing of the soil cement, and the equipment utilized.
