HARTFORD, CONN. HOSTS 630 AT APWA SNOW CONFERENCE
At the 29th Annual North American Snow Conference, in Hartford, Connecticut, speakers discussed innovative products, planning for snow and ice control, public relations, and managing crews, equipment and budget. The state of the art address was on "Current Practice in Snow and Ice Control." The program included problem solving sessions where snowfighters from highways, urban, and rural roads backgrounds met in an open forum. Preseason planning discussions focused on good planning, training and equipment readiness. Policy, ice and snow drift solutions, and preseason equipment preparations were discussed. Activities after the storm has subsided were also discussed. Record keeping and public relations aspects were covered. Manufacturers presented developments in their testing and products at vendor round tables .
