T7 TANKER LOCKING PISTON CONTROL ROD DRIVE SCRAM ANALYSIS
This analysis investigates ship motion effects on the designed T7 hydraulic control rod drive scram system using a computer program. Vertical accelerations of 0.8g upward and downward were the maximum limits. The study shows that scram time of 1.8 seconds will be met by the design. The computer program can also be used to improve the design if this is desired.
