BUS TECHNOLOGY AS RAPID TRANSIT IN OTTAWA-CARLETON. FROM THE BOOK TRANSIT, LAND USE & URBAN FORM
This article describes the background to the construction of OC Transpo's busway. Public transit in Ottawa-Carleton is the responsibility of a regional government and part of the "Regional Official Plan". A busway system was selected because of service and cost considerations. Land development has occurred around busway stations. Because of fast service, reductions in the size of the bus fleet are planned.
