MAINTENANCE AND TRAFFIC: AN ANALYTICAL EVALUATION OF THE INTERFERENCE

MANUTENZIONE E TRAFFICO: VALUTAZIONE ANALITICA DELLE INTERFERENZE

A methodology is presented for evaluating the economic impact of maintenance operations in relation to traffic. It enables the analytical evaluation of the cost to the user of delays caused by road works, and the comparison of this cost to that of the works project, or better, to the cost of that part of the operation which reduces the capacity of the road. The article presents the calculations carried out for the maintenance project on the aglio viaduct of the bologna-firenze motorway, and describes the measures adopted to minimise inconvenience to the user.
