UPGRADING THE CHILEAN RAILWAY
Since the railroad system is the major means of transporting both people and goods, the Chilean government has made the revamping of its railroad tracks a top priority. In order to keep costs down, another more economical method to weld rail joints had to be developed. This method which uses a new consumable guide tube Verti-Shield process welds rail joints using a self-shielded arc welding process.
