INFRARED LABORATORY SPECTROSCOPY IN SUPPORT OF STRATOSPHERIC MEASUREMENTS

The objective of this laboratory study is to determine the spectral characteristics (line center frequencies, line strengths and pressure-broadened linewidths) for several molecules that are present in the Earth's stratosphere and are of particular interest to the Climatic Impact Assessment Program of the U. S. Department of Transportation. The molecules investigated are; CH4, N2O, H2CO, NO2, and H2O.
